Gillian Hobbs (BRE Group) from the project held a presentation “Buildings as Material Banks – enabling a circular way of building” at Ecobuild 2017 in London.
This presentation introduced the €10M BAMB project, which brings 16 partners from 8 European countries together for one mission – to move the building industry towards a circular economy. This builds on BRE’s 20 years+ experience in resource efficiency. The topics covered included:
Keeping the value of the materials, products or components
Understanding and measuring the lifecycle impacts and costs of buildings
Business models
Decision making models
Policy and regulation that support the Circular Economy
Decision making support ‘tools’ that encourages better use of material resources throughout the life cycle of the building.
