The 19th of June, London took two steps forward towards a circular economy. The first was the launch of a circular economy route map for London and the second was the launch of a set of Top Tips for embedding circular economy thinking into construction. There were presentations about the respective outputs followed by a reception around the amazing interactive Model of London in the foyer of the Building Centre.

 

Circular Economy route map for London

The London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB)  launched a circular economy route map for London. The route map sets out LWARB’s vision for the circular economy in London and makes recommendations to the Mayor, the public sector, businesses, higher education and the finance sector on how we can contribute to accelerating its development. Top Tips for embedding Circular Economy thinking into Construction

The joint government and industry Green Construction Board has prepared a set of online Top Tips for the construction industry on how it can start to embed circular economy thinking into its activities. The Top Tips address each profession in the construction lifecycle from the client, to the designer, contractors, manufacturer and demolition industry. Come along and hear our Top Tips and then have a chance to look at them yourselves.

The Top Tips are supported by a Knowledge Resource Report identifying the numerous strands of activity already taking place on circular economy in the construction industry. Find it here.
