BUILDINGS AS MATERIAL BANKS

A PATHWAY FOR A CIRCULAR FUTURE

SITE VISIT: CIRCULAR RETROFIT LAB

6 February 2019, Brussels, Belgium

Date: 06 February 2019
Time: 09.00-11.00 CET

Visit the BAMB pilot Circular Retrofit Lab at Vrije Universiteit in Brussels, that investigate and demonstrate how Reversible Building Design can prevent demolition waste when refurbishing existing buildings.

The Circular Retrofit Lab is one of the pilot projects of BAMB. Together with 15 industrial partners, VUB Architectural Engineering is finishing the renovation of eight student rooms using a wide range of circular building systems. The visit will give a general introduction to the project and the design and construction process, and more detailed insight in the reversibility aspects and lessons learned through visits to the experimentation lab (with prototypes of the interior wall systems) and the construction site.
